Ella es mia...por favor! bleh

I might have already sent this..but KITTENS!

Yesterday Luana Cesari turned 7 and all she wanted was for us to come and eat cake with her! So cute!

Then with Valeria (Franchesco really wanted in on the pic!)

The fun of public internets is that there is a young boy reading over my shoulder as I am typing this. haha I said ¨hola¨ and he told me ¨it`s english??¨ haha

We didn`t get tranfered! I am still here in Trompillo with Hermana Alvarez! Sorry for the lack of email last week! We all had to fill out  a q and a and write to Presidente Rodriguez who is coming in 3 weeks! Where is the time going.

It`s still cold and humid, but luckily people are getting used to it and have stopped hiding in their beds all day!

Our lesson fell through, but we are going to teach a guy named Leonardo. He came to an activity with a less active member he lives with, and has come to church these past 2 weeks! He said he`ll never stop coming. Everyone LOVES him and we`re excited to get him into YSA because he`s 22 oooo oooo. The Bishop even went to his house to visit him and told us ¨Hermanas, he`s going to be a Bishop. Teach him well.¨ So praaaayy so he, and the Dàvalos family, and Maria Lenny who FINALLY accepted a date last night, can all get baptized on the 25th for mom and dad`s 36th anniversary! :) But they didn`t  come to church yesterday. FOR THE SAKE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD AND HOLY JUST GET OUT OF BED. IT`S NOT THAT COLD! ahem..anyways..

We are also going to pick up Beatriz again. She has been going to church for 15 years, her 3 kids are members in young men and young women, but they aren't married. but MIRACLE,  after yeaarrrs of legal issues, her husband, father of her children, is officially and legally divorced! I never thought divorce could be a good thing!

The work is moving along here in Trompillo and the cold never bothered us anyway. To end, remember Elmer, the guy I asked if he was single a couple months ago? Well, we went to visit his mom, Elfi, the other day and there were 15 people there for her daughter-in-law`s birthday and she wanted us to stay. So we sang and ate cake and empanadas for a few minutes until we could visit Elfi. Well, with 17 of us, someone got confused and yelled ¨who`s cake is this?¨ and everyone yelled which piece was theirs etc. But in Spanish, everything is either male or female. As I quietly drank my hot chocolate, Elmer looked at me and yelled ¨Ella es mia!¨ (she`s mine!) There was an uproar of ooohs and laughter and then he yelled ¨I was talking about my empanada!¨ So, in other words, yikes. Ciao bubby. Not coming back!

I love you all and hope everyone can make someone smile this week!!

¿Usted es soltero?

Because I didn't take any pictures this week, here is a live feed from the internet cafe with Hermana Orozco!

Oh here´s a pic of the cute shoes I bought that came out to be about $8. I love Bolivia.

Thank you all for every single one of your prayers. Sometimes, Hermana Orozco and I stop in the street and say, ¨Who was praying for us?¨ Really Trompillo is bursting with potential and God´s hand is in this area.

We are working with Manuel, the ward mission leader, to get Betty and Eduardo married so they can be baptized!! Their daughter Alejandra will leave for Mexico on May 2nd, but they are so close. We are also teaching their 2 cute kids, Leo and Diana. And we are softening the hearts of their 2 older kids. One of them, Eduardo (son), read the Restoration pamphlet 3 times while drinking and was taken away with the word apostasy! He loved the concept. Now if he would just stop drinking and come to church he would be a great missionary.

This week we have been working with Elfi. She reminds me of mom. They have a pool but she never swims nor comes to church because she says she´s too lazy. hahaha (This is how she´s not like mom.) But her 20 year old son sat in with us on the lesson, and I thought, ¨Elfi has 9 kids. One time she told us one of her youngest sons has a baby, but is it THIS son?? Because I want to invite him to join the young single adults in the ward.¨ So I bluntly asked ¨Oh, hermano, ¿usted es soltero?¨ or are you single? But he, Hermana Orozco, and his mom, had a pretty good time with me saying that. We saw his mom in the plaza and she can´t stop laughing about it. They asked if Mormons are allowed to dance then kindly invited me to their pool after the mission so I can come and swim and dance with her son eewwwww. no. hahaha the people in Santa Cruz are SO hilarious.

Marcelo is coming along! We FINALLY were able to talk to his wife and daughters. We plan on visiting them soon. Marcelo asked what more he needs to do to get baptized and then said ¨I mean, my towel is ready¨ hahaha We´re preparing him for his baptism next Saturday. And fingers crossed for Betty and her kids this Saturday, but if not, the same day!!

There are so many people to talk about there just isnt time! The work here is wonderful! I got to buy some CUTE shoes because Hermana Orozco had to buy new shoes at a street fair of American shoes, and the member we went with said ¨HERMANA PARK, BUY SHOES BECAUSE YOULL NEVER GET THIS PERMISSION TO COME HERE AGAIN!!!¨ hahaha Everyone is so kind and no one judges me when I mess up while playing the piano or when I have to give a talk in Sacrament meeting on missionary work. I love Bolivia so much. I am so honored to be a missionary in this time! This church is true! There´s no way it isn´t. There´s no way 2 young girls could be invited into homes and convince people to read a book and pray about it and be baptized, if this church wasn´t true.

SANTA CRUZ

From the last activity in Tarija last Monday where we celebrated Hermana Trimble's birthday!

BYE Hermana Petroff!

HELLO Hermana Orozco! (dont be fooled, there is another huge suitcase behind the other one!)

We got a call from the zone leaders Tuesday morning that said "hey hermanas. Just wanted to tell you that Hermana Park needs to start packing and we'll call you tonight to tell you where she goes." What a lovely call. haha I tried to work my very hardest on my last day in Tabladita and in Tarija! We celebrated by eating a whole Greek pizza Tuesday night. Then Wednesday morning every hermana from the USA that I came with and I flew to Santa Cruz! It was a teary goodbye in the airport, but they gave us a muffin and dried fruit on the plane, so it's okay. (And Raqual got baptized on Saturday and her husband, Mateo got to baptize her!)

The zone leaders said "Hermana Park, you are going to the zone Cañoto. Your area is TROMPILLO." otherwise known as Hermana Petroff's only other area! the first thing I said was"Are you kidding me?" Because when we came to Santa Cruz for training 3 times, we stayed in Trompillo, I have eaten with the pensionista, I knew some of the members, and best yet, I had gone on splits with my companion! The sweet, crazy Hermana Orozco from Columbia. She told me "I have 4 months in the mission. I am so glad to have been put with an antigua" or ancient. hahaha who knew 8 months makes you ancient.

But I really do love Trompillo. I dont know how many people came up to me in church yesterday to tell me welcome to Trompillo!! And how happy they were that I can play the piano! (even if it isn't Sister Hale status good!) Also, a boy came up to me and asked if I know Stan Cook, who was his mission president, and our ward misson leader went to Shelley a few months ago to visit his brother (who owns a restaurant in Idaho Falls called Argula Deli or something). SMALL WORLD! We got a surprise Fridaynight and the mission nurse, who is in a trio, moved in with us! So we are living as 5 hermanas! That will be fun this next weekend for carnaval. (The mission nurse, Hermana Huber, went to BYUI and knows Kyle Sargent!)

Special alert: We will be on lock down SundayMonday, and Tuesday so I'll write you all on the 15th! I LOVE YOU ALL and I hope you can enjoy the first day of the month of love by feeling of Heavenly Father's love for you and how He knows YOU personally :) Happy Valentine's Day!

Love,
Hermana Park
